After a run of surprisingly enjoyable biographies this year, Limitless felt like the perfect next read, especially with its focus on life as an astronaut.
The book opens with immediate tension, dropping you into a high-stakes moment as the spacecraft attempts to dock with the International Space Station. It’s a strong, gripping start that pulls you straight in.
This autobiography follows Tim Peake, the British astronaut who captured the UK’s attention when he became the first British European Space Agency astronaut to visit the ISS in 2015 to 2016 and take part in a spacewalk. While I knew a little about his military background, I hadn’t realised the extent of his experience or how much of his personal life would be woven into the story. He comes across as grounded, likeable, and very relatable.
What really works is the storytelling. It doesn’t read like a typical biography. Instead, it feels immersive and paced like a narrative, building tension even when you already know the outcome. I often caught myself thinking, “I remember this happening,” yet still feeling completely engaged.
One of the biggest takeaways is his mindset. From the unpredictability of military life to the demands of astronaut training, he embraces uncertainty and adapts to whatever comes next. It’s a simple but powerful reminder to take life as it comes.

Overall, Limitless is an engaging and accessible autobiography that balances personal insight with the extraordinary reality of space travel. Even if you’re not usually drawn to biographies, this one is well worth picking up.
